Parental Contribution Calculation:

Parental Contribution is the amount per month that a parent will have to pay towards child care fees, based on their annual income.  Annual income is determined by providing the amount from line 236 of the most recent income tax assessment form or Child Tax Benefit notice.  In two-parent homes, both assessments are required and incomes are added together.

Families earning up to and including $20,000.00 are not required to make a parental contribution.  They are eligible for full fee subsidy. However, all child care providers in Sault Ste. Marie charge a minimum user fee of $2.50 per day.  (about $55.00 per month for full-time care)

Families earning over $20,000 will have their parental contribution and eligibility for subsidy determined by the following formula.

Use the following Child Care Fee Calculator to determine how much you will pay for child care.
